Happy New Year everybody wherever you are. I hope you & yours are looking after yourselves in what continue to be very different & difficult times.
In this first newsletter of the new year I am writing to remind you of the dates for next summer 23 July to 31 July & to let you know that booking is now open.

There are a couple of changes from Avon Tyrrell this year:
- They are no longer giving exclusive use of the field to our rally as trialled last year.
- They are no longer able to offer our group a rebate of camping fees based on numbers booked – this means that in order to fund the barn dance & provide the BBQ a small charge of 50p per adult per night will be charged by us directly & will preferably be paid before arrival into an account (but can be paid in person at the rally if necessary).
The committee recognise this is disappointing but last year was certainly difficult for Avon Tyrell which runs as a charity & this year will clearly be challenging too as I’m sure you’ll all understand – Avon Tyrell have allocated us as many & more pitches than we have booked in previous years but if you want a specific pitch or electric hookup it will be worth booking early
Check Avon Tyrrell’s cancellation policy to ensure it meets your needs – we have challenged the need to use any cancellation within 6 months as this doesn’t work for our group in the way it would for other users – we will keep you posted on this
Otherwise our rally intends to run to its usual plan with AGM, Barn Dance, picnic, yoga, bike skills, bike limbo & children’s time trials, COVID & volunteers permitting – Avon Tyrrell will also have activities & the bike trails as usual (see their website for information).
There is now a nice Ordnance Survey map of the area in 1:50k or 1:25k available at http://newforestrallycc.org.uk/wp/location-map so get planning your routes for this summer!
